We exist to glorify God through the advancement of His kingdom by means of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Practically lived out through evangelism of our community and discipleship of our members.
2014 by-law for Lake Shastina Community Bible Church, introduced for the purpose of clarifying our belief in God’s authority alone as revealed in Holy Scripture to define morality.
We believe that God is the author and creator of marriage and that marriage, as defined by God in Holy Scripture, is by definition the joining together of one man to one woman in holy covenant, blessed by God, for as long as they both shall live. Further, we affirm that all marriages serve as a living illustration of Christ's relationship with His church.
We reject the civil law of our land and state which has usurped the authority of God by redefining marriage allowing the abominable practice of same-sex unions to be called marriage. We will at all potential costs to our freedoms, our possessions and even our safety obey God on this principal and will under no circumstances ever join together in marriage that which God has expressly forbid. This includes but is not limited to such perversions as same-sex unions, incestuous unions, polyamorous or polygamous unions or any other such unions which violate God’s holy law and character as revealed in Holy Scripture.
Proposed 2015 Amendment:
We will under no circumstances acknowledge the sinful man-made practice of "same-sex partnerships" as marriage. If one, who has been joined by man in an unholy and illegitimate union, should come to us for counsel in repentance of their sin, we will encourage them to disregard the past man-made union, as illegal in the eyes of God and not in anyway binding. To even seek legal divorce in such a matter would be to call God a liar and pretend that the sinful act was legitimate. In such cases, no marriage has taken place.
